WOW
teacup poodle puppies
I have bred new designer dogs: Tese Poo of Shitz. They are a mix of Maltese, Poodle and Shitzu. To my knowledge, my 6 are the only in the world! All the great advantages of the no shed poodle and intelligent Maltese/ Shitzu, plus their toy size has all…
Just watched your video. You’re right on. Our dogs deserve the best considering what they give us. My Jackapoo is so smart. Don’t know what I’d do without her. Just wish I could get her to bark a little less. Keep up the good work. We need to continue learning.
Hi Andrew – I have already left a message of thanks above – this comment
is purely left here as I have no other way of contacting your organization.
I have purchased the Silver product but keep getting messages asking me to buy Dog Food Secrets- could you please stop sending me those emails.
It would be great if you could give us an email address where we could send comments.
Thanks again for your great work and continued information.
Andrew – thank you so much for your passion for the well-being of our beloved pets – my two are certainly loved and spoiled by our family. A severe gastrointestinal illness of my Kiara prompted my search for healthy food recipes. I did not purchase your report on the healthy dry foods as living in Australia means the list would not apply here. I would appreciate knowing what you consider to be the best brands here if you have any information. When I buy kibble I feverishly study ingredient listings and have opted for a holistic product.
Thanks again.
No matter how much we learn, and how far we have come to understanding our dogs. We should always be reminded there is more to learn. Thanks! Jim
Another great video, looking forward to the next one.
Thanks
Thank you Andrew.
Mary
Hi Andrew;
Thank you for your care and love of dogs. Appreciate all your advise.
Without your info about dog food companies that are good and bad, I absolutely shudder to think of consequences. It is very sad to have your
suffering wind up helping others.
Thank you.
Mary
Keep up the good work! I have degenerative disc disease and I’m very limited on the work I can do now because of it and my two working dogs, shepherd and sheltie, don’t get the exercise that they need, but we do what we can. People don’t always pick a breed by their traits, sometimes it’s because they have been rescued from that unqualified owner and to be given the love, friendship and caring attention makes all the difference. I’m anxious to see the other two videos.
Excellent.
Clear examples,
Good advice.
I agree wholeheartedly with what you state.
Nice Video. Hard to hear. The music got louder and louder. BUT my dog is very happy and I am watching “The Dog Whisperer” for ideas on how to train my dog.
Another great job Andrew. Do you have any more updates on dog foods? There is a few that have never been mentioned like Merrick. Maybe that is a Canadian dog food I do not know. Any updates on food you recommend would be great.
Paula
I think your videos, like everyone else who have seen them, are wonderful! I’m at my wits end with Buddy, whom I adopted three months ago…I am slightly handicapped and cannot give him the excersise he needs. He is partly Jack Russell and needs to Walk alot! My husband does NOT like Buddy and consequently, will not help with him. So, he is only partially housetrained and still does his “dumping” in our house.
So, I am trying to become as “knowledgeable” as possible but that isn’t enough! You do NOT discuss trying to become responible but unable to do what we should! I have him fetch, (which he LOVES) at least 15 minutes per day but I still think he needs more.
Do you see what Imean about your videos? They are wonderful but could explain more…..don’t you think?
You’re absolutely right! The important thing to remember in becoming a qualified dog owner is to take a proactive stance in educating yourself about a dog’s needs. The choir wants to hear the word just like everyone else, that’s why they join! I also agree with what I read above, thanks to Andrew there will be dogs getting more of the stimulation that is so easily taken for granted. Thank you for being there to help me ensure that my baby doesn’t ever have to learn about anything beyond a happy and healthy life!
Thankyou Andrew, for all the research you have done for the betterment of our wonderful companions! I have just joined, & am looking forward to all the information forthcoming! Also it is nice to see you on the videos & not just a voice! All the very best to you! Anne Peters
Thank you once again for helping me improve the relationship I have with my best friend Buddy. You are truly an inspiration to all who will listen and learn and actively participating in helping dogs live a long and very happy life. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep spreading the word.
Hi Andrew – have found your videos EXCELLENT. I always thought I was feeding my dogs well until I was told they should NOT have canned (not that they had much of this) or cooked food (which I used to do) and now they actually really enjoy the raw meat and vegetable and fruit I give them!!!!!!! GREAT – I look forward to your next video.
Dear Andrew,
Thanks for #2 very enlighting. Tell dog gurue that young pup is listing and learning. keep up the great work. ps the kids love your pets, you give them huggs too. Recipes are great and they all love them!!
thanks Connie Storm Zoie and the Wolf
Thank you for a great presentation. It is sad that there are still so many dogs and other companion animals that are not loved and treated with the respect they deserve. If people would only think about the responsibilities that come with owning a pet before getting one, all animals would be cared for properly. Maybe one day the world will improve for all dogs.
Andrew,
I just want to thank you for making me aware of the problems with commercial dog food. I used to feed Max Science Diet for 9 years along with their treats and strips. He always would get sick to his stomach about twice a month. He would suddenly act as though I’d given him poison!! He would be sick all day and eventually throw up bile!! Sorry for the visual, but now that I’ve changed to a more natural food and treats he hasn’t been ill once! It’s amazing and a BIG relief for me. I can’t thank you enough.
Best Regards, John and Max
Andrew, my two dogs, Casey and Oliver and I thank you for your very carefully made and thought out video. I love your accent and am guessing you are from New Zealand..I was there for three weeks in 04 …I could listen to you for hours! I agree with the comment made that your video should be given or sold along with any new or adopted dog so that the owner can be an informed qualified owner. We rescued Oliver from a relative who was raising him in a crate 24/7 while they worked…we told her how abusive she was being and if she really loved the dog, she should want a life for it..so we ended up with him…he is the most adorable thing in the world…(Cavilier King Charles) Some people are shelfish and ignorant and not qualified to have a pet. You are helping all of us be more outspoken and to stanad up for a better life for our best friends. Thanks..would love to meet you sometime.
A short video compillation such as yours should be issued to every 1st time dog owners or those that adopt new dogs. That would be a good beginning. As for the other dog owners ( or, know- it – alls )…well there’s still hope for them too!
Andrew,
I enjoyed video 4 very much. Another job, WELL DONE. It`s very obvious that you have the caring love toward dogs as you do or you wouldn`t spend your time doing these wonderful videos or read every reply you get back. I liked the music you were playing as you presented this fine video. I will look forward to the next one and will not forget to pat all 3 of my babies on the head and tell them, This is from Andrew.
Take care my Friend.
Regards,
Tom
Dear Andrew,
I went to check out WholeMeal dog food. Nice concept. But it has
chicken-by-products, disguised as Glucosamine and Chondroitin. I’m surprised you recommended it. Anyway I hope some Natural food manufacturer will use this concept. I think it would appeal to dogs, as
it looks like a bone and it’s really their food. They can eat in anywhere,
even in the Family Room.
I Like what your doing, educating the public and making things safe for the animals.
Cheers,
Dee
I like pet videos, but I’m afraid I’ll have to wait for a high speed internet connection. Dial-up here is so slow that it took me almost an hour and a half to download a 5 minute video.
Andrew,
Thanks for the video, very much enjoyed it. I enjoyed this music better than the first, but it was abit too loud in relation to your voice. I love your passion about dogs and helping us to make this world a better place for all dogs.
I look forward to the next video!! It would be great to have someplace on the website for us to post pictures of our dogs.
Denise
Video #4 doing good job since I ve seen #1,2,3 .. That s true that anyone need to learn how care.loving , feed right food for dogs/cats. Dogs/Cats are learning from treat, behave, etc as like children learning when they getting older and more mature and intellegent as depends who training?
I hate anyone give dogs/cats away to shetlers .. its very sad.. I know anyone dont know how or cant afford .. but dont buy a puppy or kitten or dog or cat and also free kitten or puppy.. unless if they know how to take care of them as raised real good and loved.
Tina
Well said but you did not tell me anything that i did not no, i do hope next one will be better and tell me something new.
a good reminder for us to keep learning and be a good owner. best,
florio
Just finished watching this video and still think there is more to being a qualified dog owner than just the two concepts. Also, in video one you used one scale of highly qualified dog owner being the top end. So what is the additions necessary to go to highly qualified dog owner?
great stuff andrew, i can’t believe some dog owners can be so cruel to their pets. i’m looking forward to video 2, take care,
alexander.
hi andrew, i just watched video 1 and i can’t believe that some dog owners can be so cruel to their pets, i realize that i still have a lot to learn about looking after my dog, and i am glad that you are making these videos. keep up the good work, take care,
alexander.
What you talking about has everything to do with any chnage. Looking forward to video three.
I totally agree, Andrew. Thank you for all that you do for us and the dogs of the world.
EXCELLENT! I am waiting with baited breath for video 3.
Randy
Good Job Andrew ! I don’t know about anyone else but I will watch every video you make. They are informative and educational, please keep up the good work !
ANDREW , ONCE AGAN YOU HAVE HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! KNOWLEGE IS SO IMPORTANT . I HERE STORIES AT WORK ABOUT HOW PEOPLE TREAT AND TAKE CARE OF THERE DOGS, AND SOME ARE OK BUT SOME ARE JUST NOT TO GOOD. NO I FEEL THAT DOGS ARE OUR CHILDREN, AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH!WHEN I HERE THAT SOMEONES DOG HASE NEVER BEEN IN THE HOUSE ,BECAUSE THEY BELONG OUT SIDE .IT MAKES ME WONDER HOW DO THEY LEARN THESE THINGS,MY TWO MASTIFFS,ALPHA BLUE BLOOD BULLDOG HAVE BEEN ON AN ORGANIC RAW FOOD DIET FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND THE RESULTS ARE INCREDABLE! NO SKIN,FLEA,TARTAR,SHEDING PROBLEMS. IT”S CUT MY VET BILLS DOWN TO NOTHING. SO EVERYBODY HAS 24HR INDOOR OUTDOOR PRIVILAGES AND THATS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE I BELIVE. ANDREW I JUST WISH EVERY DOG OWNER COULD HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.IT’S DEFENITLY UP TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF US TO TRY TO SPREAD THE WORD THE BEST WE CAN. LOOING FORWARD TO NUMBER 3! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
ANTHONY FORD
PS, THOR,ZEUS AND SKARRLETT LUV YOU FOR IT!
Sharing your information and the tons of reading I have done over the years. I have two dogs, one is totally blind. I am teaching her to deal with her loss of sight and she is getting around well. She is taking commands to go up and down stairs and to move left and right to get in and out of doors. The training, exercise and love that I have given her since she was a pup has helped her to overcome and be more secure. Without this foundation, I believe she would be very lost in the darkness of her sudden blindness.
Your video No. 2 has good info. Keep up the good work.
Good video. I agree with you, it always takes one or two people to start something and then for those people to spread the word. Whether or not others follow what we do, is up to them, but at least the word is out there and the facts.
Best of the three videos to date. Un-common knowledge discussion and the common owner dog model left me hanging for the answer.
Andrew….you have a way of very simply delivering your message, which not only manages to find its way through all the day to day confusion our brains encounter, but takes root and grows. I find myself thinking about your ideas at odd times of the day, and talking about them with all the other dog owners when we meet up in the park. Thank you, and I look forward to the next video…..meanwhile I’ve given my girls a big hug from you.
Thank you for your ongoing quest to benefit all dogs especially my beautiful babies. (Zanna, Zia & caZmere) I am looking forward to videos 3 & 4.
Here I am again. Doggie-gru is cute and tatlented. I have all my animals around me when I am home. They are family, for my people family live far away. With my son in Iraq and grandchildren in Mosouri they bring me much appreciated love and comfort.
Your words have inspired me. Thanks so much for sharing these videos.
enjoying the videos, waiting for more, as we’re learning knowledge is best………….
Once again a great video. I am looking forward to #3. My two dogs, a teacup poodle and Yorkie, both received hugs from you. Once again thank you for great videos.
This is so sad but please read
How could you?
A man in Grand Rapids , Michigan took out a $7000 full page ad in the paper to present the following essay to the people of his community:
HOW COULD YOU?
By Jim Willis, 2001
When I was a puppy, I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh.
You called me your child, and despite a number of chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend.
Whenever I was “bad,” you’d shake your finger at me and ask “How could you?”- but then you’d relent and roll me over for a bellyrub.
My housebreaking took a little longer than expected, because you were terribly busy, but we worked on that together.
I remember those nights of nuzzling you in bed and listening to your confidences and secret dreams, and I believed that life could not be any more perfect.
We went for long walks and runs in the park, car rides, stops for ice cream (I only got the cone because “ice cream is bad for dogs” you said), and I took long naps in the sun waiting for you to come home at the end of the day.
Gradually, you began spending more time at work and on your career, and more time searching for a human mate.
I waited for you patiently, comforted you through heartbreaks and disappointments, never chided you about bad decisions, and romped with glee at your homecomings, and when you fell in love.
She, now your wife, is not a “dog person” –still I welcomed her into our home, tried to show her affection, and obeyed her.
I was happy because you were happy.
Then the human babies came along and I shared your excitement.
I was fascinated by their pinkness, how they smelled, and I wanted to mother them, too.
Only she and you worried that I might hurt them, and I spent most of my time banished to another room, or to a dog crate.
Oh, how I wanted to love them, but I became a “prisoner of love.
As they began to grow, I became their friend.
They clung to my fur and pulled themselves up on wobbly legs, poked fingers in my eyes, investigated my ears, and gave me kisses on my nose.
I loved everything about them and their touch–because your touch was now so infrequent– and I would’ve defended them with my life if need be.
I would sneak into their beds and listen to their worries and secret dreams, and together we waited for the sound of your car in the driveway.
There had been a time, when others asked you if you had a dog, that you produced a photo of me from your wallet and told them stories about me. These past few years, you just answered “yes” and changed the subject.
I had gone from being “your dog” to “just a dog,” and you resented every expenditure on my behalf.
Now, you have a new career opportunity in another city, and you and they will be moving to an apartment that does not allow pets.
You’ve made the right decision for your “family,” but there was a time when I was your only family.
I was excited about the car ride until we arrived at the animal shelter. It smelled of dogs and cats, of fear, of hopelessness. You filled out the paperwork and said “I know you will find a good home for her.” They shrugged and gave you a pained look. They understand the realities facing a middle-aged dog, even one with “papers”. You had to pry your son’s fingers loose from my collar as he screamed “No, Daddy! Please don’t let them take my dog!” And I worried for him, and what lessons you had just taught him about friendship and loyalty, about love and responsibility, and about respect for all life.
You gave me a good-bye pat on the head, avoided my eyes, and politely refused to take my collar and leash with you.
You had a deadline to meet and now I have one, too.
After you left, the two nice ladies said you probably knew about your upcoming move months ago and made no attempt to find me another good home. They shook their heads and asked “How could you?” They are as attentive to us here in the shelter as their busy schedules allow.
They feed us, of course, but I lost my appetite days ago.
At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was
you that you had changed your mind-that this was all a bad dream…or I hoped it would at least be someone who cared, anyone who might save me.
When I realized I could not compete with the frolicking for attention of happy puppies, oblivious to their own fate, I retreated to a far corner and waited.
I heard her footsteps as she came for me at the end of the day, and I padded along the aisle after her to a separate room. A blissfully quiet room.
She placed me on the table and rubbed my ears, and told me not to worry.
My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come, but there was also a sense of relief. The prisoner of love had run out of days.
As is my nature, I was more concerned about her.
The burden which she
bears weighs heavily on her, and I know that, the same way I knew your every mood.
She gently placed a tourniquet around my foreleg as a tear ran down her cheek. I licked her hand in the same way I used to comfort you so many years ago.
She expertly slid the hypodermic needle into my vein.
As I felt the sting and the cool liquid coursing through my body, I lay down sleepily, looked into her kind eyes and murmured, “How could you?” Perhaps because she understood my dogspeak, she said, “I’m so sorry”. She hugged me, and hurriedly explained it was her job to make sure I went to a better place, where I wouldn’t be ignored or abused or abandoned, or have to fend for myself–a place of love and light so very different from this earthly place.
And with my last bit of energy, I tried to convey to her with a thump of my tail that my “How could you?” was not directed at her.
It was directed at you, My Beloved Master, I was thinking of you.
I will think of you and wait for you forever.
Well Done. My Dogs and I Thank you, please keep up the god work – it appears to be a calling for you and it is a wonderful calling that can benefit so many!
Wonderful stuff Andrew!
My two rottweilers Jess & Costa that were saved from the animal refuge a few years ago now give you a *High Five* back. 🙂
excellent Andrew,
looking forward to 3
Hi Andrew,
Another great show, which helps not just dog, but all pet owners, think about their responsibilities to the animal to which they are custodians.
Hi Andrew, my Rat Terrier Dixie and I just watched your video together. Well, I did more watching as she snoozed on my lap. I can’t wait for video #3. I’m like a sponge! soaking up all the info I can to become the most responsible pet owner possible. Thanks again for making this a simple journey. Chris Lord & Dixie
Now if we could get this word out to the folks not in the “choir” that would be saying something. I hate government regulations but I wish they were more involved in areas such as food labeling, puppy mills, etc. The type of work you’re doing is a start and I thank you for your love and concern of all dogs!!
Thanks for the videos………….
Sorry to hear about your dog Noble. I can’t imagine going through what you have but I know I will eventually. I have a 9 yr. old brindle boxer/pit mix named Roxy who is my little girl and so spoiled that all my friends tell me that when they die they wish to come back as her! You are so right about having dogs as a priviledge and not a right. I am a total dog person which of most of my family is. I have spent a lot of $$$ on my beloved friend due to two torn ACL’s and other health issues and will continue to do so as long as I can afford to. I totally agree about the whole dog food issue and totally think it has to do with all the health problems dogs & cats have these days. I’m 39 and growing up we fed all of our dogs their dry food and our leftovers and we never had any problems with our pets and they lived long lives. Now days it seems they have the same health issues we have and I have asked vets about this with no conclusion as to why. Roxy has a delicate stomach and they have prescibed her meds to take before she eats along with expensive Euakanuba low residue canned food. I have since started cooking for her since reading your books and figuring out I need a part-time job just to feed her with the overwhelming costs of her food and care. Unfortunately, I believe with people treating their pets as family some veterinarians have taken advantage of this field and have made it so costly for people to take care of their pets. A lot of dogs go neglected due to the high costs associated with proper care. Keep up your good work and thanks for getting the word out……….Noble would be proud!!
KOOKIE(FULL NAME:KOOKOOKACHOO) AND ZIPPY(ERIK VON ZIPPER) SAY “THANK YOU, ANDREW!!!! OOOXXXOX!!
You are correct when you said you can read all the books in the world but if you don’t apply the knowledge to your pets (we both lose). I also believe that the more you talk to people about our adorable pets you spread love and knowledge, with hopefully ending ignorance of our pets and animal around the world.
It’s nice to know that I am not alone in sharing my love for dogs. I have two great buddies named Crystal and Harley. Crystal is a 9 year old Golden Retriever who came into my life when she was only 7 weeks old. She has developed diabetes, and is now 100% blind as a result. One would hardly know that she is blind at all at times. Incredible how she gets around. She even still wants to play fetch the ball. Harley, my 3 year old Golden Doodle, is at her side 100% of the time. He seems to know when she needs something, or is looking for her ball. He will bring the ball to her and drop it at her feet, and several times we have watched him take her by the collar, and guide her. The love that I share with these two best friends cannot be explained on a key board. If only people could be more like these two… what a nicer, more peaceful would this would be. What an honor it is to be loved, unconditionally , by two gentle dogs. Poor Harley will be lost without Crystal when she leaves us. It will be a learning curve both both of us to be able to do new things for him. Like running in the park with me, without our blind friend to slow us down. Or sleeping alone at night, without his mate to cuddle up to. It tears my heart out just to think of our lives without Crystal. She will never be out of our hearts though. I wish that everyone could experience the love handed out by two gentle dogs, like I have enjoyed. Every day troubles in life just seem to fade away when the three of us are together.
Thank you for caring! Looking forward to #3
Thank you for being so informative, education to our animals is part of the package.
Many people feel that I am humanizing my animal. On the contrary, I am treating my animal with respect. Feeding is only one of the keys, education the second. Respect for animals and human beings at large is third. Thank you I look forward to #3 Debihosmer
Thanks. waiting for #3
Thank you Andrew for striving so hard to make life better for dogs everywhere. Here in Ireland I found appalling ignorance and cruelty,(despite most people being caring and responsible owners) and we now have 10 adopted dogs of all shapes and sizes. I now cook human-quality food every day for them. A slow cooker is a great help, and the dogs have all improved for the diet – better skin, no ‘doggy odour’, more active and energetic. They have not had any processed food since I first discovered your site. I have a multi-coloured bundle of furry bodies lying around my feet as I type – all sleeping blissfully. Thank you on their behalf. Believe me, the waggy tails and clean bowls at feed times speak volumes. If you are preaching to the choir keep it up -it will reach the congregation eventually! I have kept, bred, raised and trained horses for 50 years and I am learning all the time. It is the same with dogs.
Im sorry about your dog and I know how heart renching it can be to loose on the family as I also lost my dog to kidney problems 4 or 5 years ago and I still cry because I did not see it comming and I blame myself totaly. I have many dogs and love them all, several are dogs that people were going to put down and I took them in to find them a home. – and I did they are all still hear. I wish I found your information years ago. thanks so much from all my 4 legged family. karen
Easy to give my little guy a hug at end of video. In fact, loving on him (Boston Terrier) while he sat in my lap and watched with me! Looking forward to Video 3 and ways to easily leap over obstacles. Keep up the good work!

Andrew!
You are starting something big here.! It needs to evolve. This is now a community of people united with one common passion. We need a forum to contact each other, if desired. Much information can be shared from all of our common experiences.
I reread comments from video 1, and someone (Suzie Strandquest) wanted to share info with me. Her dog was a Golden Retriever that had itching problems like my girl, Gypsy. Gypsy’s mom is a Golden and her dad is an Australian Shepard. Suzie, if you read this, my email is xraybear64@msn.com. What was it your chiropractor did for your dog? Thank you for trying to help us.
I am happy to say, that now that we are almost 3 months inro using the Nzymes products to detox and rebuild her system, I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. She is scratching much less, smelling better, etc. I look forward to a complete healing. So at this point, I am happy to endorse the http://www.Nzymes.com products. They have helped many other pets and people with joint pain, hair loss, the list is long. It is not a medicine, it detoxifies the body to allow it to heal itself. It can be a long process, but I believe in the benefits now. Gypsy is proof! So hopefully, it may help others. Check out the website.
Anyway, Andrew, maybe you should consider a setting up a site with blogs and threads, forums, etc. That way, we can help each other. There is a sense of community here. I once went to a seminar by Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer. It was a great feeling to be in such a large venue with so many other people who I knew loved their dogs as much as I love mine. (Many of us had our dogs waiting in our cars.) I think we have the same thing here.
I did enjoy the 2nd video, by the way. Thanks for what you do.
